Courtnay Campbell
Courtnay took her first Bikram class in February, 1997. Seeking relief from stress she stepped into a super hot room, and asked her body to move in ways it hadn’t for many years. A former dancer, she was looking for something that could give the same joy of movement that she felt when she was dancing. She found it on the yoga mat. As the body grew stronger, and the stress became more manageable, she learned to breathe. She tapped in to deeper strengths. Through that doorway a new world opened to her as the focus and power learned on the mat spread to areas of her life outside the yoga room. Thanks to her teacher’s encouragement she became a teacher in 1999 and has studied with many teachers in several styles, most recently with Micheline Berry. She is grateful for the opportunity to share yoga, which has proven to be more than just movement; it is also stillness. For Courtnay, yoga is the balance between chaos and quiet.
